filter.junkie: gold text
 [ gold text ]

Eventually, you're going to meet that client that feels 'classy' equates to gold; they may or may not be wearing one of those nasty nugget rings. Voluntarily.

But hey, their money spends too.

Again, there are any number of variations out there, and I'm not sure where I started with this one -- but it does work well. And, of course, it's all with the dynamic filters.

The primary difference between this one and the chrome version is that it works better on thicker fonts and areas. I haven't provided a good example here, but I promise it does do the job.
 [ drop shadow ]

Standard dropshadow settings will work here, and of course dropshadows are one of those things that everyone changes to their liking.

In this case, #ffffff, multiplying blend at 49%; 120° global light; distance, spread and size at 2/10/2. A normal contour with no noise.

Here's where things get a little bit more tricky.

An inner bevel, chisled hard at a depth of 20%, pointed up and sized at 60px [yet another one of those variables]. The shading is using the normal gloval light -- but we're using a custom contour we'll get to in a minute. The hightlight and shadows are set at #ffffff and #000000 respectively, both at 75%.

 [ bevel & emboss: contour ]

Here's that contour. Kooky, hunh? Don't know who originally came up with it -- but hey, does it ever work.

Rather than trying to describe this, your best bet is to open the contour editor and come up with something that looks more or less like this. Three wave, rising in amplitude to the right. Good luck and may the contour editor be with you.

 [ satin ]

There's a bit more weirdness here, but nothing to write home about if you've managed to conquer the content editor from the previous step.

A normal color burn for the blend mode, set at #000000 and 50%. The angle is set for 19° [and experience shows that somewhere around the 75° mark from global light works well] at distance of 3px and a size of 15px. The contour is another custom job but no big huhu; a simple line from the bottom left to the top middle. Do note it's inverted, however.

 [ gradient overlay ]

The gradient overlay is simple enough -- nornal blend, 100% opacity, linear aligned at a 90° angle and 100% scale. Color choices are in the next step.

The color choices are apparently everything for the gold. From left to right:

0% - #f4d818 - 100% opacity
50% - #f0e289 - 100% opacity
100% - #f4d818 - 100% opacity

It can be messed with to... blah, blah, blah. You know the drill.
